Is there a sci-fi book that is largely based on the real history of spanish conquistadors ?As of my knowledge cut-off in September 2021, I'm not aware of any specific science fiction book that is largely based on the real history of Spanish conquistadors. Many science fiction authors have taken inspiration from historical events and periods, but I can't point to a specific book that directly parallels the era of Spanish conquistadors in a sci-fi setting.
However, Orson Scott Card's "Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus" is a blend of science fiction and historical fiction that deals with time travel and the period of exploration and colonization initiated by Christopher Columbus. While it's not about Spanish conquistadors per se, it does explore similar themes of contact between European and American civilizations.
If you're looking for such a book and it does not yet exist, this could be a fascinating premise for a novel. The combination of real historical context and speculative science fiction elements could provide for some compelling storytelling. It could explore themes like imperialism, culture clash, technological disparity, and transformation, all of which are rich subjects in both historical and science fiction literature.
Just bear in mind that when writing about real cultures and historical events, it's important to do so with sensitivity and respect, taking care to research thoroughly and avoid perpetuating harmful stereotypes or inaccuracies.
